  1. A really comfortable, well equipped house. It is very practical with a great dining kitchen which was easy to prepare food in and lovely to eat in. There was plenty of space and everything was well designed and through to make it both attractive and practical to use. We enjoyed the view of the sheep from the back bedroom window as a bonus. There are great local walks as well as being in range of the well known Peak District spots. We enjoyed walking to Clifton, Wyaston, Osmaston as a circular walk from the house as an example. Totally recommend.

  2. This is a lovely house to stay in. It is cosy with a very well-equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. It is a great location for walking in the countryside, where you can walk straight from the door and don’t need to use the car. We popped into St Oswalds Church for a quick look around on our way into town. It was very interesting and well worth a visit. We can recommend the George and Dragon for good food and drink, a friendly welcome and a roaring fire.

  3. Beautiful Cosy house. Spacious, spotless, and overall has such a lovely homely feeling. The log burner located in the dining area is the perfect touch ! Especially this time of year!
We had originally booked for two nights but got in touch with the owners and extended our stay by a further 2 nights.
Ashbourne is a beautiful town. There’s so much to do. We specifically loved Dovedale. There were maps and leaflets available within the home which gave us lots of ideas for days out. We still have so much of Ashbourne to experience so will defiantly be back!

  4. We stayed at Aldergrove Cottage for four nights in September 21. I believe we were one of the early visitors but we were very impressed by the cottage and it was obvious that a lot of thought and effort had gone into making it a lovely place to stay. It was beautifully clean and comfortable with great attention to detail. A well equipped kitchen with a big table to sit round and a small but comfortable sitting room. The log burner wasn’t available at the time though it wasn’t needed as the weather was good and the central heating worked well. The main bed was comfortable (didn’t try the other one) and the bathroom was lovely with a good shower and lovely view. It was nice to have a small garden to sit out in. There are plenty of places to eat and drink and the local beer’s are good. The area is lovely with good walking options and close to beautiful countryside. I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay.

  5. A lovely little cottage situated a stones throw from the wonderful centre of Ashbourne.

There is everything you need, comfortable sofas, a modern kitchen and bathroom and a spacious dining area. The bedrooms offer a good place to rest your head.

The surrounding area is stunning, with some lovely walks right on your doorstep.

I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice, comfortable place to base themselves out of for what this part of the Peak District has to offer.
